Expanded PTFE Sheet - China Manufacturer Supplier Factory

What is Expanded PTFE (ePTFE)?

Expanded PTFE (ePTFE) is 100% pure PTFE that has been stretched through a unique process to create a micro-porous fibrous structure. This structural transformation keeps all of PTFE's chemical and thermal advantages while giving it completely new mechanical behaviour — the material becomes soft, pliable, bendable and twistable, and it recovers elastically after compression. This makes ePTFE the ideal sealing material for fragile, glass-lined or irregular flange surfaces, and for covering large or complex flange geometries where a rigid gasket cannot seal.

As an experienced expanded PTFE gasket manufacturer in China, Kaxite Sealing supplies ePTFE in three forms — gasket, joint sealant tape and soft sheet — all made from 100% virgin PTFE with universal chemical resistance and service temperature from -240°C to +260°C. See related products: Expanded PTFE Sheet, ePTFE Gasket and ePTFE Joint Sealant Tape.

Key Properties of ePTFE

01

Soft & Pliable

Compresses with minimal bolt load — safe for glass-lined, plastic and fragile equipment.

02

Universal Chemical Resistance

pH 0-14 — resists every common industrial medium, from strong acids to solvents.

03

Wide Temperature Range

Performs from -240°C to +260°C, covering cryogenic and high-temperature service.

04

Elastic Recovery

Microporous structure recovers after compression — handles thermal cycling and vibration.

05

Non-Contaminating

100% pure PTFE with FDA / RoHS compliance — safe for food and pharmaceutical service.

06

Reusable & Low Friction

Non-stick surface cleans easily and can often be reused after inspection.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between ePTFE and regular PTFE gasket?

Regular (virgin) PTFE is a dense, solid material. Expanded PTFE is stretched into a micro-porous fibrous structure that is soft, pliable and bendable. This makes ePTFE the preferred choice for fragile, glass-lined or irregular flange surfaces and for wrapping around complex geometries. See ePTFE Gasket for details.

When should I choose joint sealant tape over a pre-cut gasket?

Choose joint sealant tape when the flange is large, irregular or has a complex geometry where cutting a gasket is impractical, or when you want to reduce gasket inventory by stocking a single universal product. See ePTFE Joint Sealant Tape.

Can ePTFE be used for food and pharmaceutical applications?

Yes. Our ePTFE products are made from 100% virgin PTFE and are FDA and RoHS compliant. See our Our Certificate page for full documentation.

Can you produce custom sizes and thicknesses?

Yes. We manufacture sheets from 1 mm to 10 mm thickness, gaskets in any diameter, and tape in various cross-sections. Please send your inquiry with a drawing or dimensions for a fast quotation.

What is your MOQ, lead time and payment terms?

MOQ is 10 pcs for standard sizes. Lead time is 7-15 days after order confirmation. Payment terms are T/T or L/C. Free samples are available for quality evaluation — you only cover the courier cost. Contact Us to discuss.

  • Expanded PTFE sheet (also called ePTFE sheet or soft PTFE sheet) is a highly compressible sealing sheet made from 100% virgin PTFE. The expansion process creates a soft, fibrous structure that conforms perfectly to uneven sealing faces and seals at very low bolt load — properties that standard skived or moulded PTFE sheet cannot match. It is FDA compliant, resists virtually all chemicals from pH 0 to 14, and does not exhibit the cold flow problems of virgin PTFE or the hardness problems of filled PTFE. Kaxite supplies expanded PTFE sheet in standard 1500 × 1500 mm size, thickness 0.5–6 mm, with properties comparable to GORE, KLINGER and TEADIT sheet materials.

  • Expanded PTFE joint sealant tape (also called ePTFE joint sealant or self-adhesive PTFE tape) is a soft, highly compressible sealing cord made from 100% virgin PTFE with a self-adhesive backing strip. It is used to seal flanges that are difficult to gasket with a conventional cut sheet — large, complex, irregular, pitted or damaged faces — and where the joint is opened frequently. The tape is simply pressed onto the flange, overlapping at the ends, and the joint is bolted up. It resists nearly all chemicals from pH 0 to 14, works from −268 °C to +260 °C and up to 100 bar, does not hydrolyse or harden, and separates cleanly from the flange after use.

  • Expanded PTFE gasket (also called ePTFE gasket or soft PTFE gasket) is a soft, highly compressible cut gasket made from 100% virgin expanded PTFE sheet. It is twisted, bendable and highly conformable, so it seals steel flanges as well as flanges with irregular or damaged surfaces where a hard gasket would leak. It does not exhibit the cold flow problems of virgin PTFE or the hardness problems of filled PTFE. Kaxite supplies expanded PTFE gaskets cut to size from 1/2" to 24" — and custom gaskets to drawing — in Style 1310 White, with FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliance.
